National Parks

  • Chitwan National Park

One of the richest wildlife reserves in Asia with an area of 932 sq. km. in Chitwan is to the South in the map of Nepal. Easy access with 4 to 5 hours driving or 35 minutes short flight from Kathmandu or Pokhara, it is a place of indigenous Tharu people. Big home of the unique one-horned rhino, majestic Royal Bengal Tiger, many species of deer, and the largest number of zoological species of local and migrated birds more than 450, crocodile family with the rare species of Marshmugger "Gharial" and numerous flora and fauna can be discovered.

  • Bardia National Park

One of the largest and least explored by adventurous travelers is located in the remote Far West Terai in Nepal. The possible reaching there is by cruising on a bus 12-13 hours from Kathmandu or taking a 90 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and a few hours Van drive. This is the only national park with a large territory of Royal Bengal Tigers and a huge river - the home of the fresh water dolphin. The park is the home of many endangered animals, reptiles and birds - including the elusive Tiger. Some years ago several one horned rhinos where translocated here from Chitwan. Over the years Bardia has also been a good place for tiger viewing - a rare event anywhere. Recently sightings of a group of wild elephants have further enhanced the wildlife experience possible in this beautiful and unspoiled sanctuary.

  • Koshi Tappu wildlife reserve

The Kosi Tapu and the Kosi Barrage in east Nepal provide one of the best places in Nepal to view migratory water fowl, waders and shore birds during the winter months. Many species not recorded elsewhere in the region have been seen here. Thousands of birds congregate here in January and February before they migrate north when the warm weather begins. This reserve is of course least explored but also can be combined to the trip to India breaking the journey enjoying its natural tips. The Safari tours can be made classically in 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days.
