Location: Asia, north of India, located on the Tibetan Plateau, the world's highest region.

 

Area: 1.2m sq km (471 700 sq miles), Bod: 2.5 million sq. km, approximately the size of Western Europe.

 

Terrain: 70% Grassland; from high plateau to tropical forest

History:

Tibetan history can be traced thousands of years back. Tibet's history can be diveded into four period: The Tsanpo's Period, The period of Decentrailzation, The period of Sakya, Pagdu, and Karmapa's Rule, and The period of the gandan Podrang's Administration.

 

People:

Population: 2.62 million

Ethnic Groups: primarily ethnic Tibetans; Menba, Lhoba, Mongols, Hui and a growing number of Han Chinese.

Religions: Tibetan Buddhism, Animism.

Languages: Tibetan, Chinese.

Day 01- KATHMANDU LHASA (3600m.)= fly over the Himalayan range To lhasa. Take complete rest for acclimatization. Overnight in hotel.

Day 02/03 LHASA = for these two days you will be engrossed with be engrossed with sightseeing tour of the POTALA palace, JOKHANG temple, b HARKOR market, DEEPUNG monastery and the sera monastery. Overnight in hotel.

Day 04 LHASAKATHMANDU Bid farewell to the mysterious land and fly back to KATHMANDU or to your onward destination.

Day 01 = KATHMANDU TO LHASA click picturesque sight of the icy peak of the Himalayas via air to LHASA. Tiber complete rest for acclimatization. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02/04 LHASA .Quench the thirst of your eyes with three days of wondrous sight of the POTALA palace, JOKHANG temple, sera monastery, DREPURG monastery, NORBULINGKA AND a nunnery. Overnight at hotel.

Day 05 LHASA TO KATHMANDU.Leave the holy city full to the brim to tell tales of wonder to your folks and fly back to KATHMANDU or to your onward destination.

Day 01 KATHMANDU (1300m) TO LHASA (3650m) = fly (1hr) to LHASA over crossing the highest Himalayan ranges of the world. Transfer and check in to your hotel. Full rest for acclimatization – hotel.

Day 02-03 (SUN-MON) – in LHASA= two full day sight-seeing tour to LHASA including JOKHANG temple, BARKHOR bazaar, POTALA palace, DREPUNG and SERA MONASTERES . Over night at hotel.

Day04 (TUE) LHASA to XIGATSE, to the west of LHASA through the road. The drive is scenic as. The road drives along the valley made by BRAHMAPUTRA river (YARLUNG TSANGPO). Overnight at hotel.

Day 05XIGATSE TO GYANTSE (3950m) : 90km Morning sight- seeing to the PANCHEN lama’s TASHILHUMPU monastery. Drive to GYANTSE and visit to THE KUMBUM STUPA and PHALKOR MONASTERY. Overnight at hotel.

Day 06 YANTSE to TSEDANG (3400m) : 29km Full day picturesque drive crossing over KAROLA (5000m), KAMBALA (4794m) and colorful YAMDROK lake. .continue drive along the Tibetan lifeline river BRAMHAPUTRA( YARLUNG TSANPO) on to TSEDANG .overnight at hotel.

Day 07- TSEKANG TO SAMYE TO TSEDANG = 140 km. Early morning drive to put- in- point by the side of the BRAMH PUTRA river andcross the river by a local made motor boat (1hr) continue a short (30min) drive by a truck to SAMYP monastery explore SAMYP and drive back to TSEDANG . Late afternoon, visit YUMBULAKHANG and also THANDRUK monastery( time permitting) – overnight at hotel.

Days 08 TSEDANG TO KATHMANDU. Early morning drive (2hrs) to airport for departure flight to KATHMANDU

Day 01 - KATHMANDU (1300m) to ZHANGMU(2500m) NYALAM(3700m) : 123km / 156km. Early morning scenic DRINE TO KODARI (NEPAL-TIBET border) through the BEAURIFUL Nepalese countryside and after necessary border formalities both at Nepalese and Chinese immigration, check- in to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02(sun) – ZHANGMU/NYALAM-XEGAR TO LHASA (4050m) : 200/244km.Day drive uphill to the highest plateau of the world with the typical view of Tibetan landscape offering sheer feeling of standing on the roof of the world crossing over LALUNG la (5050) , weather permitting with breathtaking panorama of beautiful Himalayan ranges including MT.EVEREST(8,848m) & MT.XISHAPAGMA(8012m) but dwarfed by the vastness of the Tibetan plateau. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03 (MON)-XEHAR RO GYANTSE(3900m): 244km Continue scenic drive crossing over GYATCHU la (5220m), the highest pass en route to LHASA via LHASATE from where a road to MT.KAILASH bifurcates to the WEAT. Overnight at night

Days 04 (TUE) : XIGATSE to GYANTSE (3950m) :90km Morning sight seeing to the PANCHEN lama’s TASHIHUMPU monastery. Drive to GYANTSE and visit to the KUMBUM STUPA & phalkor5 monastery. Overnight at hotel.

Days 05 (wed): GYANTSE TO LHASA (3650m) :261km Full day picturesque drive crossing over KOROLA(5010m)KAMBALA(4794m) , colorful YAMDROK lake and the TIBETA lifeline RIVER B RAHMAPUTRA (YAARLUNG TSANGPO) .Overnight at hotel.

Days 06-07 (TUE-FRI)-IN LHASA .Two full day sight –seeing tour to LHASA including JOKHANG temple, BARKHOR bazaar, POTALA palace, DREPUNG and sera monasteries. Overnight at hotel.

Days 08 (sat)- in LHASA TO KATHMANDU Early morning drive to airport for departure flight to KATHMANDU or to your onward destination.

Day 02- in LHASA . visit POTALA palace pm visit JOKHANG/ BARKHOR temple and BARKHOR bazaar- hotel.

Day 03- In Lhasa : AM: Visit DREPUNG MONASTERY, PM: visit SERAMONASTERY- hotel

Days 04 Lhasa to Gyantse(3950m) : 261km Driver to GYANTSE via YAMADROKE LAKE and high passer: KARO LA (500M) & KAMBALA(4794m)- hotel GYANTSE.

Day 05 Gyantde- Xigatse (3900m): 90km AM: sight- seeing in GYANTDE including PHALKOR & KUMBUM MONASTERIES, ECT. Pm: Scenic drive to XIGATSE (2hrs) through the typical Tibetan countryside –hotel.

Day 06- Xigatse-Tingri(4100m): 270km AM: Visit PANCHEN LAMA’S TASHILHUMPU MONASTERY. PM: drive to TINGRI crossing over GYATCHU LA (a pass of 5220m) –hotel.

Day-07: Tingri- Ronbuk (4980M): Aprox. 120km Scenic drive to RONBUK through the beautiful Tibetan countryside. Explore RONBUK MONASTERY (highest monastery in the world) – camp/ guest house

Days -08: Explore Everest BC (5150m): 8km Driver to EVEREST BC and explore BC with the highest peak right In front of you as if communicating with you in a spiritual language filling in you a kind of arrogance that you have been able make it to the base camp of the Mt. EVEREST – camp / guest house

Day 09- Everest BC – Tingri :132km.Drive back to TINGRI through the beautiful Tibetan landscape accompanied by the lingering impression of the lingering impression of the highest mountain range of the Himalayas – guest house.

Day 10- Tingri - Nyalam (3700m) / Zhagmu(2300m) : 187km/219 km Drive To NYLAM/ZHANGMU by over crossing the LALUNG LA PASS (5050) from where one can enjoy the magnificent view of the Mt. CHO OYU (8201M) and Mt. XISHAPAGMA (8212M) being dearfed by the height of the TIBET itself- hotel / guest house

Day 11- Nyalam/ Zhangmu – Kathmandu: 155km:After necessary border formalities, scenic drive to KATHMANDU through the beautiful countryside of Nepal (4-5hrs) – transfer to your hotel.
